That could work fine but another way to approach it is to glue several sheets of MDF together (let's say 3/4") and then cut out the curved shape and then veneer that. TīmeklisMDF is much the same, but typically it's more commonly seen for large panels and veneered pieces. It's advantages over solid wood include dimensional stability and ability to be veneered and painted on to create a smooth surface. Both make it really useful. Both are a really good way to cut costs compared to solid wood.
