WebIron pyrite is a fairly common mineral, and is mined or extracted globally for its many industrial uses, such as extraction of the sulphur for sulphur dioxide or sulphuric acid, and also as an ore for iron. It oxidises readily, making it easy to extract the component minerals, but care must be taken as this also makes it quite combustible.
